Formula 1 | Mercedes, Wolff reveals: “Differences with Ferrari? We remain modest despite our successes."

Interviewed by the Dutch magazine Formule 1, Toto Wolff spoke about the difference in approach between Mercedes and Ferrari, underlining how the world champion Scuderia is capable of maximizing the result, without creating too many expectations on the shoulders of its drivers.

The Scuderia from Maranello, on the other hand, creates such pressure that even a second place turns out to be a failure. An abysmal difference in attitude which, at least according to the Austrian Manager, has made a notable difference over the last few seasons.

Here are the words of Toto Wolff: “Part of our DNA is that we remain modest despite our successes. We don't take a victory for granted and we don't see it as something that is our right. Let's avoid facing each week with the obligation to triumph. If there are races where the maximum possible result is second place, I remain at peace with myself. I think this is the biggest difference between us and Ferrari."

“The attention around that team always makes everyone want to triumph”, added the Austrian. “A result lower than first place is never enough for them, even if the whole team did their best. Coming second is a failure."
