Formula 1 | Mercedes, Lauda: “No problem with Hamilton's power unit”

In an interview given at the end of the last Japanese Grand Prix, the sixteenth round of the 2017 Formula One world championship, Niki Lauda spoke about the "alleged" problem suffered by Lewis Hamilton with the power unit in the final laps of Suzuka, explaining how there is no alarm regarding Austin. After a careful analysis by the technicians, in fact, it emerged that the vibrations noticed by the Englishman came from the tires and not from the power train.

A sigh of relief therefore for the three-time World Champion, also considering that the unit used in Japan was the fourth, i.e. the one mounted in Belgium. It should also be noted that even in the event of a penalty, the Englishman's fifty-nine point advantage over Vettel allows for relative tranquility for the Brackley team.

Here are the words of Niki Lauda: “There is no warning for Austin. We analyzed the data and the power unit did not suffer any problems. The vibrations Lewis felt came from the tires. As far as the United States is concerned, we are quite calm".
