Formula 1 | Mercedes, Hamilton after free practice: "Lack of confidence in the rear"
"Same problem in the two sessions despite changes in setup," said Lewis
Still many difficulties for Lewis Hamilton seventh at the end of free practice on Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The English champion is struggling quite a bit to find the feeling with his mercedes w15, and this obviously makes him lose faith in the car. It all seems to concern the rear end of his car, which is evidently very light, and this does not allow him to complete a lap time worthy of the name. Despite the set-up changes between the two sessions, the problem has not yet been resolved, and therefore in Friday's PL3 it will be essential to find the right set-up for the rest of the weekend.

“It was a difficult day – admits Hamilton. I lack a bit of confidence in the rear of the car, so we worked a bit on the set-up session after session, changing the car a lot, but the main problem has always been the rear. On a fast track like this you need to have total confidence in the vehicle, and that's not the case yet. We will look at all the data to see how we can improve: George is in a happier place, we have gone in slightly different directions, so hopefully we can find the right solutions."
