Formula 1 | Mercedes looks to the future: authorizations have been requested for the expansion of the Brackley base

After the numerous successes of recent seasons, Mercedes has chosen to expand its Brackley base, seeking and obtaining all permission from South Northamptonshire Council in respect of the expansion of the operational base. Important news for a team that has been dominating the Formula One Circus for four seasons now. The German team received the green light from the local councilor in recent days, Rebecca Breese, and the transformations will focus primarily on wind tunnel, an aspect on which Mercedes wants to improve in view of the coming seasons.

The site, we remember, was founded by British American Racing in 1999 and many of the employees from back then continue to work within the factory. In 2006 the site passed into the hands of Honda, only to then arrive at Mercedes in 2010 with the operation that saw the German team acquire ownership of Brawn GP.
