Formula 1 | Mercedes, confidence is growing: Hamilton and Russell are aiming for the podium

Some confidence has returned to Mercedes after qualifying in Zandvoort. Hamilton and Russell finished in fourth and sixth place, but the last flying lap was effectively canceled by the yellow flag caused by Perez's accident. Without this inconvenience, the two English drivers could have done much better. But anyway, the race pace seems to be optimal with the Dutch temperatures, diametrically opposed to those perceived in Belgium.

“After last week's complicated qualifying, it was encouraging to have managed to put the car and tires in the right working window – said Andrew Shovlin, Mercedes on-track technical director. The two drivers lost positions due to the yellow flag caused by Sergio, but unfortunately it happens. In the morning we did some long runs in PL3 and the two drivers are happy with the behavior of the car, so we hope it will be a good omen for the race. It is not easy to understand other people's strategies: there is not much data because of the red flags, so we may see different solutions and this will give us opportunities. Normally with a full tank of fuel we go better, and if it were to be confirmed today too then we could do well in the race."
