Formula 1 | McLaren, Ricciardo and Norris out of the points in Canada
Both riders complain about various problems, in some cases suffering heavily
Hell of a day for McLaren. In Montreal both Ricciardo and Norris finished outside the points, and both drivers complained of various problems with their respective MCL36s, even suffering heavily from some points of view. The Briton even admitted that he didn't have the speed to overtake the cars in front. A real heartbreak, a situation that must be resolved before the Silverstone event.
“Unfortunately it's not the best Sunday for us – admits Ricciardo. We had no rhythm and we had to manage several things. It was tough, and we were too out of the game. We'll have to take a look, see where we can go better and then review a few things."
“We were unlucky – Norris said. We didn't have the pace to overtake the others. It was very difficult to do in general and this penalized our pace. We simply couldn't reach the positions we wanted to achieve. I think the pace wasn't that bad, sure, it wasn't that good either, but not too bad, but not being able to overtake hurt us badly. We have a lot of work to do, there were mistakes on my part and also on the team's part, we need to freshen up our ideas and do a better job next time."
