Formula 1 | McLaren, Norris: “I couldn't have done more”
Third row for the Englishman in Jeddah: "I'm very happy!"
The sixth place of Lando Norris closes a good Friday for the McLaren a Jeddah. The English driver will in fact start from the third row in Saudi Arabian Grand Prix today, alongside his teammate, Oscar Piastri. For many in the Arab paddock, #4 was among those credited for a very good grid position, but evidently something went wrong, or most likely the MCL38 at the moment he can't give more than that. Lando also spares a thought for Carlos Sainz, emergency operation for appendicitis, replaced very well by Oliver Bearman.

“It was certainly a good day – admits Norris. I don't think we could have asked for more as a team, so I'm happy. We got the most out of the car: with the tires we arrived with four softs, two mediums and one hard in qualifying, and this put us at a disadvantage, we had a set less and made our life a little more complicated, but we knew it, we hope that this strategic move will reward us tomorrow. I'm very happy anyway, we maximized our performance. I want to congratulate Ollie Bearman, he achieved a truly impressive result, he had no idea that he would be driving a Formula 1 car today, he seems comfortable on this circuit. I wish Carlos all the best, I hope he gets well soon."
