Formula 1 | McLaren, Norris: “We don't have the right pace”

Difficult Friday for McLaren, with both cars outside the top ten at the end of the second free practice session of the Singapore Grand Prix. Lando Norris ended his day in eleventh place, while Ricciardo was even eighteenth, far from ideal performances. However, the MCL36 seems to have several difficulties at Marina Bay, and this evening there will be a lot of work to do on both cars to get something positive starting from tomorrow's qualifying.

"Hard day - admits Norris. On the bright side, the updates seem to work, perform as expected and have given the car that little something extra. The pace doesn't seem to be there at the moment, there's a lot to work on if we want to get into Q3, more than we thought, but we'll work hard throughout the night to be able to unlock some performance."

"It's really hot - Ricciardo said. It wasn't that brutal though, I feel pretty good physically. There is a lot of work to do tonight, we are slow and we struggle a lot with the car, especially in the second session. We want to use all our resources to improve, but FP2 was very complicated. I'm curious to see what will happen tomorrow, it's difficult to know now, but we'll make a lot of changes to the car."
