“I realized that many of the things we did were for my own good”
The young rookie who will debut in the world championship next year said he was particularly satisfied with today's test day on the circuit Abu Dhabi, finished with the sixth time.
“I think I've never completed as many laps as I did today, so it was good. I tried many things that I needed, such as long runs; considering all this I think it didn't go that bad. I've never felt tire degradation before, so that was one of the biggest things I wanted to achieve. I'll have a little more experience for next year, some tire drop and things like that. I also wanted to put together a few other things, like proof of departure and give some feedback. Today everything felt different, realizing that many of the things we did were for my own good because they could benefit me greatly next year. Now I'm trying to get everything based on me rather than the other drivers like in the past when I was a test driver. I just focused on doing the best I could for myself, so that was helpful.".
