Formula 1 | McLaren, no economic deficit without Honda

A possible (and now probable) divorce with Honda, it would not have an impact on the company's coffers McLaren. The executive director Zak Brown has clarified the issue, guaranteeing that the English team's choice of motorsport partner for 2018 will be carefully considered: "We can no longer afford not to be on the podium. This is a big decision that takes many aspects into consideration, including the economic one. Fortunately we have extremely committed shareholders who allow us to make a sporting decision and carefully evaluate the economic side. However, we are not financed, so we can navigate any situation".

As we have known for several days, McLaren has already chosen to move on engines for next year Renault and we are currently awaiting the official announcement of the agreement. Honda, however, would not be left out of the puzzle: the Japanese company, in fact, would have to supply its own Power Unit to Toro Rosso, ready in turn to divorce Renault and close this utopian circle of negotiations until a few weeks ago.
