Formula 1 | McLaren, Alonso: “It will be tougher in Abu Dhabi than in Brazil”

Fernando Alonso in Abu Dhabi he hopes to conclude his disappointing 2017 with dignity McLaren, who has never won on the Yas Marina track in his career, presented the last round of the season like this: “Abu Dhabi is a fantastic circuit to conclude another year of racing. There is a truly unique atmosphere: The year seems to have flown by, but at the same time there is a feeling of closure. Everyone in the team has worked hard and is looking forward to the winter break. There is enormous anticipation to perform well in the last race of the season, which usually gives us great emotions: everyone gives their all to end on a positive note.".

"In Abu Dhabi it will be more complicated than in Brazil" – explained the Spaniard. “We had an unexpectedly positive result in Interlagos, but we know it will be a tougher challenge in Yas Marina. Obviously, the whole team wants to finish the season on a high, so we are working hard to extract maximum performance from the MCL32. Qualifications are key on this track because overtaking is difficult, so it's important to find the right setup in the shortest time possible".

“Racing at dusk and then in the dark, and in ever-changing conditions, makes this stage interesting for the riders: I'm sure this year's cars will be super fun to drive on this track. We hope to be able to conclude the season with an important result as a reward for all the efforts made by the team this year." – concluded Alonso.

Abu Dhabi will be McLaren's last GP in collaboration with Honda.
