Formula 1 | Massa: “Verstappen is ready for the title”

Interviewed by the F1 Nation podcast, Felipe Massa analyzed the world championship challenge between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, specifying how the Dutchman is ready and mature to become world champion.

Thanks to the growth carried out in the last two seasons, the Red Bull representative has managed to smooth out the "imperfections" that emerged in the first part of his career, becoming a driver who is not only fast and concrete, but also not prone to making mistakes.

Important qualities, also underlined by Christian Horner and Helmut Marko, who are helping him to battle on equal terms with the seven-time Mercedes champion to win this year's world title.

“In the first two/three years of his Formula 1 career he proved to be a very inconsistent driver,” said the Brazilian. “He was very fast, but he made many mistakes that didn't allow him to fight for the top, as well as giving the impression of an immature rider”.

“In the second part of 2018, however, with Daniel Ricciardo as his teammate, he managed to make an important leap forward. He started making fewer mistakes and I think this allowed him to grow massively. Today I think he is really mature and fast, also he is doing an incredible job and without mistakes. He's ready to win”he concluded.
