Formula 1 | Germany welcomes grid kids enthusiastically: “They could attract a young audience”
Teske: "The idea is very interesting"
The Boss of the German Grand Prix, Jorn Teske, welcomed the latest changes implemented by Liberty Media regarding "grid girls". In an interview with Bild, Hockenheim's marketing chief highlighted how the idea of launching “grid kids” is absolutely interesting, especially to give new life to pre-start operations. Formula 1 needs new attention and the presence of the kids could attract an entirely new audience, which would give a big hand to sponsors and TV.
Here are Teske's words: “We were informed in advance of the change, but we do not yet know the details of this operation. In Germany we are absolutely for tradition and therefore girls would always be welcome, but the idea of “grid kids” is very interesting. Formula 1 needs a younger audience and that's a great idea."
