Formula 1: FOTA does not want to race in Bahrain at the end of October
FOTA, the association of Formula 1 teams, would have taken a position on the FIA's choice to return to Bahrain at the end of October. The association reportedly sent to the Federation, the FOM and the organizers of the Bahrain GP in which it clarified that its members do not want to race in Sakhir and ask to return to the Indian GP on October 30 as originally planned.
However, FOTA has not completely closed the door on a scheduled return to Bahrain by asking the FIA to evaluate a later date.
FOTA's request comes a few hours after Ecclestone's declarations: “Rather it would be better to go to Bahrain at the end of the season and, if the situation is safe, we will be able to race. Otherwise we won't go there and there won't be any problems."
In addition to the logistical problems, the teams would be unhappy with the way in which the FIA changed the calendar, effectively without the unanimous opinion of the teams.
