Formula 1 | Jordan tight-lipped on Sargeant's season at Williams
“Talent is something you can't buy,” the Irishman said
Formula 1 Jordan Sargeant – In a long chat given to the columns of Sky, Eddie Jordan did not use "sweet" words towards Logan Sargeant, the only driver on the grid who has not yet obtained confirmation for the 2024 Formula 1 season. According to the Irishman, former Manager of Jordan - in fact - the American driver never managed to confirm the predictions of the day before, ending up not only suffering the performance of his teammate, Alexander Albon, but also creating quite a few problems for Williams itself due to the many accidents had during the season. An unacceptable condition which should push the team to evaluate other profiles for its future.
“First of all, it has to be said that talent is something you can't buy,” Jordan said. “Would Sargeant drive a Formula 1 if he didn't bring in money? Absolutely not. I'm not even sure he would drive my car if he had a lot of money behind it when I think of drivers like Jarno Trulli, Ralf Schumacher, Eddie Irvine and Rubens Barrichello. Even though people might think that we were mostly about money, there was a fine line. Yes, we needed someone to help support us, but it wasn't absolutely essential. Sargeant wouldn't be on my team."
