Formula 1: The teams have reached an agreement on the new qualifying format
di Staff24 February 2014
The eleven F1 teams have agreed on the qualifying format for 2014. Recently, in a meeting at the first round in Bahrain, the sport's key players worked to ensure an exciting qualifying in the new V6 era.
Among the changes, there would be a proposal for an additional set of soft tires for those cars in 'Q3', while drivers finishing in Q2 would get an additional set for the race.
Some media report that after the teams' approval the proposal will now be sent to the World Motor Sport Council for approval.
“It could be in black and white by the end of the week,” correspondent Michael Schmidt said.
