Formula 1 | Horner: “Wolff's pressure on race direction is unacceptable”

In a chat given to the microphones of RaceFans.net, Christian Horner spoke about Toto Wolff's "maneuvers" immediately following the contact between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen at Silverstone, specifying how the Mercedes Team Principal immediately found strong pressure applied on the judgment of the race commissioners.

Immediately after the contact, Wolff went to the Race Direction to defend Lewis Hamilton's actions: a move that the British manager of the Austrian team did not like at all, given that according to his point of view, the stewards should not be influenced from external factors during the analysis of a match event.

“I saw Toto who was going towards the race direction to put pressure on the stewards”, said the Red Bull Team Principal. “So I also went to Race Direction to make sure our point of view was brought to light. To be honest, I don't think it's right for team principals to put pressure on the commissioners. They should not be influenced by external factors. They need to be clear-headed to make these decisions. Nobody should see them during a Grand Prix."
