Formula 1 | Hamilton on the return to Zandvoort: “It will be difficult to overtake”

Lewis Hamilton has enthusiastically welcomed a possible return of Zandvoort to the world calendar, underlining how the Dutch track could prove to be an extremely important testing ground for cars and drivers.

Despite the width of the track and the layout which makes overtaking difficult, in fact, the Englishman is convinced that Formula 1 can stage a great show in Holland, especially if the event also involves the city of Amsterdam.

Lewis, we remember, raced in Zandvoort during his youth, which is why he has no recent memory of the track located in the Passien.

“I drove at Zandvoort in the preparation categories and I must admit that I remember it as a great circuit,” admitted the reigning World Champion to the columns of De Telegraaf. “It was difficult to overtake, but I don't know if this problem will continue to change. The situation will probably improve with DRS."

“The return of Holland would really be a great thing,” he continued. “People talk about Paris a lot, but personally I love Amsterdam more. It's a young and fresh city."
