Encouraging performance for Mick Schumacher in the last United States Grand Prix, 17th round of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship.

At the end of a well-run race, the German from Haas managed to show a good pace in the comparison with Williams and Alfa Romeo, managing to battle with them for large stretches of the race for positions around 15th place.

Interesting findings which confirm the German's great growth in the second part of the season. For Nikita Mazepin, however, it proved to be another extremely difficult weekend, further complicated by a problem with his safety collar which forced him to make an additional pit stop during the second lap.

“The race was quite fun and I liked it,” said the Haas German. “Overall we expected a much worse performance, which is why we are happy with what we managed to achieve and how the package grew over the weekend. I had some close battles in the race, especially at the beginning, and all this experience is helping me ahead of next year. In the final laps we closed decisively on Nicholas Latifi and I think with another five laps we could have launched an attack."

Here are Nikita Mazepin's assessments: “Unfortunately, during the first lap the headrest came off my car and we were forced to make a pit stop. I had to take a cautious approach because I didn't see what or who was around me. Subsequently the 25 seconds of the top proved irrecoverable. The temperatures were critical throughout the race and in general I would say it was a difficult weekend."
