Formula 1 | Haas, Hulkenberg fifth in free practice: "We need to work on race pace"
Magnussen sixteenth: "We will all be very close"
Important day for Haas permanence in Sakhir. Nico Hulkenberg he finished Friday in Bahrain in fifth position, most likely raising the performance of the power unit Ferrari (at the request of the same? Ed.), but leaving this aside it is certainly an excellent way to have more and more confidence in the VF-23. The German, upon returning to a permanent position in formula 1 after three years he already seems to be at ease. With regard to Kevin Magnussen, sixteenth at the end of the round, the sensations are more than positive.
“The pace on the flying lap was fun – Hulk said. But it's Sunday that really counts, and we still have a lot of work to do from this point of view: finding the right pace in the long runs and working on tire degradation. It will be difficult, but it's like that for everyone, so we will need to find the right compromise between the set-up and the long distances. Overall it was a good Friday, we can build something important."
“The first session looked pretty good – Magnussen admitted. After that we tried a few things, the team worked hard on some of them between the tests and this weekend and there were some important responses. There is still a lot to try, only two free practice sessions have passed, but I think we are in a good position. I don't want to say anything, but we will all be very close, anything can happen."
