Formula 1 | Dutch GP, Lammers attacks Assen: "I haven't been an option for some time now"

Speaking to the newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, Jan Lammers heavily criticized the management of the negotiations for a possible Dutch Grand Prix, underlining how the situation inherent to the Assen track is strongly penalizing the plan provided by Zandvoort to Liberty Media.

According to what was reported by the new sporting director of the Dutch facility, in fact, Assen would not be a real alternative for the organization of the Grand Prix, given that the only track capable of hosting an event of this type would be Zandvoort.

Lammers, precisely in this sense, believes that this situation is only creating confusion, an aspect that could push Liberty Media to look for other solutions in Asia or America.

Here are the words of Jan Lammers: “There are a lot of falsehoods surrounding this situation. The confusion doesn't help the Dutch Grand Prix, but unfortunately this is the arena in which we have to compete.

“The promoters try to make us believe differently that Assen is a real alternative, but in reality this is not the case, given that they have no longer been an option for some time now”, he added. “The truth is that Zandvoort is the only solution to have a Dutch Grand Prix. The alternative for Liberty is to go to Asia or America."
