Formula 1 | GP Monaco, Vettel has no doubts: "We deserve a good result"

The memory of Niki Lauda and the wait for the start of the activities on the track were at the center of Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel's meetings with the media on Wednesday of the Monaco Grand Prix, on the eve of the day of free practice in Monte Carlo is traditionally on Thursday.

Landlord. The most awaited driver of all was obviously Charles, who was among the protagonists of the FIA press conference. The Monegasque remembered Lauda “for his availability and humility, considering how much he won in Formula 1. He was great and everyone will miss him”. Then the journalists shifted the focus of the discussion to the Grand Prix: “Without a doubt this is a special race for me, racing in Monaco as a Scuderia Ferrari driver fills you with pride – said Charles – I will give my all to achieve a great result. We didn't start the season as we would have liked – admitted Charles – but day by day our level of understanding of the SF90 improves. This is a very particular track but I believe that the many kilometers of testing done in Barcelona will be useful here too. The atmosphere in the team is calm, and this confirms that things are being done properly. It's about working hard as a team."

Seb determined. Later in the afternoon, Vettel met the media in the team hospitality. Also in this case the first thought went to Lauda: “I was lucky enough to know Niki and chat often: it was a real privilege. She was never trivial in her assessments of her and I am convinced that no one will be able to fill the void that she leaves in our sport." Ahead of the Monaco weekend, Sebastian said he was ready for this particular race: “Anything can happen here, because there are many variables to take into consideration: traffic, walls, weather conditions, they can determine any result. And I feel like saying that we deserve a good result. We have worked a lot and we are continuing to do so, but we have not managed to collect what would have been right. We know that we have to work to improve and reach the level of competitiveness we have been waiting for since the beginning of the season."

On the track. The first free practice session is scheduled for 11am, the second at 15pm. On Friday, as per tradition, there will be no activity on the circuit. Qualifying will be on Saturday at 15pm, the 66th Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix, whose first edition took place 90 years ago, will start at 15.10pm.
