Formula 1 | Interlagos GP, Szfanauer launches Racing Point: "We're aiming for fifth place in the constructors' championship"

A few days before the next Brazilian Grand Prix, the penultimate round of this 2019 Formula 1 world championship, Otmar Szfanauer spoke about the objectives that Racing Point has set for the trip to Interlagos, underlining how the hope of the team led by Lawrence Stroll is that of collecting important points for the constructors' championship.

“Brazil offers us another good opportunity to gain points,” said the Racing Point Team Principal shortly before leaving for Interlagos. “The car performed well on a number of tracks and I am very confident of confirming this in Brazil as well. It is difficult to judge our performance in the last race in Austin, as it was compromised by various factors, but there is no doubt that we did not show our true potential."

“Overall, as we approach the end of the season, I can say that I am satisfied with our performances, especially after the summer break,” he continued. “We have worked hard to improve the car and scored points in almost all of the last seven races. The point we scored in the USA helped take us to sixth place in the championship and mathematically we can still aim for fifth place."

“There is a lot at stake and a lot to fight for, so we need to maximize the opportunities during this weekend,” he concluded.
