Formula 1 | GP Eifel, pay attention to the cold and variable rain

Watch out for the cold and variable rain for the next Eifel Grand Prix, the eleventh round of this 2020 Formula 1 world championship. Due to the geographical position of the 'Ring, teams and drivers will find themselves facing a weekend with rather to the limit, given that temperatures could even drop below 10°.

An exciting challenge that will push the engineers to maximize the aerodynamic set-up, given that it will be essential to "maintain" the temperature of the tires during the various sessions.

“The Nürburgring is practically a 'new' circuit for Pirelli, so the approach to this weekend will be the same as when we race on a track for the first time, although obviously in this case we already know it thanks to the experience gained in other competitions", said Mario Isola. “We chose to bring C2, C3 and C4 because they are the compounds that best adapt to the different needs of this track”.

“Probably the most important factor of the weekend will be the weather, with low temperatures and bad weather quite frequent at this time of year,” he continued. “As a result, teams may be faced with rather unusual circumstances and on a track they are not familiar with. This Grand Prix will likely favor those drivers and teams who are able to deal with rapidly evolving situations."

“I think it's correct to say that we should expect a race with many variables, where we could see all the compounds in action over the course of the weekend, including the wet ones,” he concluded.
