Formula 1 | Belgian GP, Spa ready to renegotiate the agreement with Liberty Media?

The organizers of the Belgian Grand Prix would be ready to renegotiate the contract with Liberty Media regarding the possible confirmation of Spa-Francorchamps within the championship. According to what was reported by minister Pierre-Yves Jeholet, in fact, the entry of Zandvoort into the calendar would have changed the cards on the table, pushing the organizers to re-evaluate an agreement which until last season satisfied all parties involved.

Due to a clause in the current contract, Spa would be fully entitled to reevaluate the current agreement (20 million per year. Ed.), finding a middle ground for the obvious losses that will be recorded as early as next year. . Already in recent days, one letter from Chase Carey would have been sent, with the aim of opening a possible negotiation in the shortest possible time, so as to reduce economic losses to a minimum.

“If we don't renegotiate the deal now, the losses will skyrocket,” a source close to the organizers told the Echo newspaper. “We need to reopen discussions on financial conditions. It's something necessary."
