Formula 1 | Abu Dhabi GP, the DRS zones for the weekend at Yas Marina

The FIA has made official the points where it will be possible to exploit the DRS system in the Abu Dhabi GP, the last round of the 2022 Formula 1 world championship.

After the victory won by George Russell at Interlagos, the first of the season for Mercedes, the Circus is ready to fly to Yas Marina, now firmly the scene of the final round of the championship. Various challenges will enliven the weekend, including the Mercedes-Red Bull battle for second place in the constructors' championship and the one between Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez for the honorable placing behind Max Verstappen.

Like last year, the race commission has chosen to activate two zones, which will be positioned in the straight between turns 5 and 6 and in the stretch between turns seven and nine (the latter has changed in design compared to the past). The detection cells will be positioned just before the 5th and 6th.

The weekend programme, we remind you, includes two one-hour free practice sessions on Friday (11.00-14.00) and FP3 on Saturday morning (11.30). These 60 minutes of work on the track will be the last opportunity for teams and drivers to work on the set-ups in view of qualifying, scheduled for the same day at 15.00pm. Green light on Sunday afternoon at 14.00 pm. The race can be followed live on Sky Sport F1 HD and deferred on TV8.
