Formula 1, Gian Carlo Minardi: “Customer car? No thank you"

In Formula 1 we're back to talking about customer cars. This time it is none other than Bernie Ecclestone who supports Ferrari's proposal. To date, however, the proposal does not seem to have received great support among the teams, especially at Red Bul and McLaren who have expressed their negative opinion in recent days.

A name that has contributed to making the history of motor sport and knows the world of the big circus very well thanks to over 20 years of Formula 1, such as Gian Carlo Minardi, also shares the same idea.

“Even today, as in the past, I am against this decision as I don't believe it is the right path to take to try to revitalize the championship and interest in Formula 1 by increasing the number of participants. It is not so automatic to entrust a team (whether F1, GP2 or GP3) with a complex car, created to have winning performance, such as a current single-seater. If there was the possibility of purchasing a car, the choice would be for cars that liven up the championship with their performance, cars born with a winning philosophy and extreme both in construction and in the management of individual parts. This obviously does not favor costs which will certainly not be low. It's not enough to buy and put a Ferrari, a Red Bull or a McLaren on the track to be successful" analyzes Gian Carlo Minardi

“For part of my history I had Flavio Briatore as a partner with whom we did accounts to evaluate the technical synergies that could come from Benetton.
