Spa objective: circuit and... temperatures of the past

Formula 1 | Ferrari, Vettel and Raikkonen ready to restart the world championship chase

The Formula 1 gear has started moving again. Already at the beginning of the week, the vanguard of logistics and cuisine and the "team" destined for assembling the equipment left for Belgium. The bulk of the racing team leaves on Wednesday afternoon. Once the summer break is over, another "back to back" immediately arrives, two races in as many weekends, particularly significant and demanding given that after Spa the Scuderia Ferrari will face the home race in Monza.

The novelty of the weekend could be the cold. Often, especially in recent years, the Ardennes have disguised themselves as the Antilles, with temperatures that are not suited to the period and the hilly altitudes. This time the weather forecast - which here however must always be taken with a pinch of salt - predicts maximum temperatures in the order of 14-16 degrees. The risk of rain is currently quite high for Friday's free practice, lower for qualifying and almost zero on race day.

The track is a piece of history: over ninety years of activity, albeit in different configurations, the longest track in the world championship with its seven kilometers and the most "lively", with over one hundred meters of difference in altitude. The aerodynamic load of the current single-seaters has made it much easier to tackle corners like Eau Rouge, Raidillon and Pouhon, but the circuit retains its charm unchanged. And the audience contributes to the show.
