Formula 1 | Ferrari, Vettel against the grain: "We saw the most important change in the tires"

Speaking to Sky Sport F1 HD, Sebastian Vettel spoke about today's free practice, underlining how the biggest change was adapting to the new Pirelli compounds. According to the German, in fact, the behavior of the tires was slightly different compared to the past, but he did not specify whether this was necessarily a positive or negative aspect. As for the rest, however, Seb positively welcomed all the technical updates brought here to Barcelona, highlighting how each innovation has led to an improvement in terms of performance. The objective for tomorrow, obviously, will be to snatch pole position from Mercedes.

Here are the words of Sebastian Vettel: “The updates worked and everything we put into the car seems to have worked. The biggest change were the tires and personally they seemed different to me compared to the first ones, but honestly I couldn't say if they are better or worse. They are different and this applies to everyone. The track today was quite slippery and there were big gusts of wind, but in the end it wasn't bad and I'm pretty sure we can improve further in view of tomorrow."

On a possible pole position he added: “I've never had a pole here? I'm not sure to be honest. I thought I did one a long time ago, but still the answer doesn't change. We'll try to take it tomorrow because here starting from the front makes a big difference. It's not easy to follow other cars and pole here gives a big advantage."
