Formula 1 | Ferrari, Sainz: “Impeding on Gasly? They must have done it to me three or four times but I kept quiet."

Evidently a stressful day that just ended in Canada. Carlos Sainz, after the accident in the third free practice session he was unable to do better than eighth position in qualifying, and will most likely be penalized for impeding Pierre Gasley. The pilot of the Ferrari, reached by Sky at the end of the hostilities, he highlighted the stress suffered today, and although he understands the anger of his French colleague, he objects to how everyone is ready to open up on the radio when they think they have been wronged, also because Carlos himself believes he having been penalized on the track for the same reason at least three other times during the day, without however saying a word.

“It was a very hard day from a psychological point of view – Sainz admitted. After the bang in free practice, the last thing you want is to have another crash in qualifying, and pushing in complicated conditions and on slicks in Q2 I did some good laps even though I wasn't at 100%. In Q3 I had a bit of bad luck with the red flags because I had the potential to do well. Impeding? I have to look: I was in the middle of four cars, we were overtaking each other because everyone wanted the best position before the checkered flag, but in these conditions they prevented me three or four times I think, but that doesn't mean I open the radio to complain, so I think that in certain situations some riders are a little too agitated."
