Formula 1 | Ferrari, Raikkonen: “3rd place was the best possible result”

Sly but effective race: Kimi Raikkonen took advantage of Daniel Ricciardo's retirement to grab a precious 3rd place ahead of the two Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. “The tires lasted long enough, but I couldn't push more” – the Ferrari driver declared to David Coulthard after the race. “In the end this position was the best we could get.”

After the fantastic victory in Austin, another good placing arrived for “Iceman”, the eleventh podium of the season: “They were good results (in the USA and Mexico, ed.), obviously we would like more, but I definitely can't complain” – continued the 2007 world champion. The objective now will be to compete until the end for the constructors' championship with Mercedes, 55 points away: “There are still two races to go and we will try to do better” – he concluded.
