Leclerc third, Sainz finishes in sixth place

Scuderia Ferrari with its drivers, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, achieved the third and sixth best times in the first free practice session of the Singapore Grand Prix on the Marina Bay circuit.

41 rpm. The two cars left the pits on Hard tires with which Carlos achieved a 1'45”626. Charles instead returned to the garage after just one lap to allow the team to check the braking system. The Monegasque returned to the track shortly afterwards with Hard tires with which he achieved a 1'46”328.

After the session was suspended with a red flag due to Lance Stroll's collision with the wall, both drivers switched to Soft tires with which Charles achieved 1'43"435 and Carlos 1'44"138 despite an error at last corner. For the two, 17 and 24 laps respectively. The second free practice session is scheduled for 21pm local time (15pm CET).
