Formula 1 | Here is the official draft of the 2019 calendar: this year's 21 GPs confirmed

Through an official note, Formula 1 has published the draft calendar for the 2019 season, awaiting approval from the FIA World Motor Sport Council. The scheduled GPs are the same 21 as this year: they start on March 17th in Austrialia and end on December 1st in Abu Dhabi. The stage in China should be circled with a red marker, where the 1000th Grand Prix in the history of the Circus since the first edition in 1950 will be celebrated.

Furthermore, the press release issued by Formula 1 contains two important pieces of news: the renewal until 2021 of the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka and staying for another season of German Grand Prix in Hockenheim, the result of a long back and forth between Liberty Media and the promoters of the German race.

These are the words released by the owner of Formula 1, Chase carey: “I am very pleased to announce that the draft calendar of the 2019 Formula 1 World Championship will consist of 21 races, just like this year. Furthermore, we are honored that the long-standing promoters of the Japanese Grand Prix have agreed to a new long-term agreement that will ensure our loyal and knowledgeable Japanese fans can enjoy Formula 1 for more years to come. I am also pleased to confirm that with the valuable help of Mercedes-Benz, the German automobile clubs ADAC and AvD and the German Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure, we have reached an agreement with the municipality of Hockenehim and the promoter Hockenheim-Ring GmbH which will allow racing on this iconic circuit again in 2019”.
