Formula 1 | De La Rosa: “Sainz is a concrete and solid driver”

In a chat given to the columns of "La Gazzetta dello Sport", Pedro De La Rosa spoke about the performances that Carlos Sainz showed in this first part of the season with the colors of Ferrari, highlighting how the Spaniard proved to be a fast driver, but also “solid and concrete”.

Leaving aside the mistake in Baku, the former McLaren almost always managed to maximize the potential of the SF21, collecting important points for the team and a splendid podium in the Monaco Grand Prix. Definitely important results which, thanks to experience, can be improved in the coming months.

“Sainz is an extremely solid driver and people are realizing how quickly he adapts to the car and the car,” said the Spaniard. “A result like the one achieved in Monaco was only a question of time, given that in the previous races he had managed to keep the pace of the best.

“Carlos, on his part, has great solidity and doesn't let the pressure overwhelm him. He never stops learning and he loves to know the inside out of what he is driving. Furthermore, his relationship with his father is genuine, but also extremely competitive, because the latter constantly pushes him to improve.
