Formula 1 | Berger on Liberty Media's ideas: "There is a risk of a major political upheaval"
"A lot of people are moving in different directions within the Circus," he added
In an interview given to Auto Motor Und Sport, Gerhard Berger spoke about the political situation within the Formula One circus, underlining how, at the moment, there is a lack of guidance that brings the top teams together with the rest of the field. Liberty Media's ideas, in fact, risk upsetting the very politics of Formula One and this could lead to an unhealthy revolution for the entire system. Berger hopes for a rapprochement between the parties and an agreement that will avoid a scenario of this type.
Here are the words of Gerhard Berger: “A lot of people are moving in different directions within Formula One. We have Mercedes and Ferrari on one side and the Ross Brown/Liberty Media duo on the other. At the center instead we find the FIA, judge of this battle. I think we lack Bernie Ecclestone's political direction today. I think the unity between the parties is at an all-time low as far as the top teams are concerned. If they continue in this direction, they risk a major political upheaval."
