Formula 1 | Aston Martin, Vettel and Stroll in the sixth row in Monza

As predicted, Aston Martin is struggling a lot in Monza. On the long straights of the Brianza track, the AMR22 suffers tremendously from drag and is therefore not fast at all. Vettel and Stroll finished qualifying in seventeenth and eighteenth position, but tomorrow they will both start on the sixth row thanks to the many penalties received by the other drivers on the grid for various replacements of power unit components.

“I'm happy with my lap – admits Seb. I only made one attempt due to a problem with the bodywork, and this didn't allow me to have the right pace. All in all, this weekend hasn't been easy so far: we're not particularly competitive on this track, but tomorrow is a new day and we'll do our best to make progress. We will also gain a lot of positions on the grid, so we will start from the sixth row. We usually go better on Sundays, let's see what we can do."

“We knew this wouldn't be the best track for us, and today's result proves it – Stroll said. Monza is a different track to those we have seen lately, so I hope this performance can be an exception. There's a lot of drag, but I'm sure we'll do better in the rest of the season. We start further than expected thanks to other people's penalties, so we will do everything we can to get into the points."
