Stroll and Vettel will start from the fifth row in the Belgian Grand Prix. The two Aston Martin drivers did not have a great qualifying, but the many penalties inflicted on their opponents meant that they advanced a lot on the starting grid, considering that the Canadian qualified fourteenth, while his teammate was was even excluded in Q1.

“It was very complicated out there – Stroll admitted. There was a lack of grip, but we need to understand why we lost performance as qualifying progressed. I was hoping to do better than fourteenth position, but we will gain a lot of ground due to other people's penalties, so I'm confident we can score a good amount of points starting from the fifth row."

“I know I could have done more today – Vettel admitted. I didn't have a perfect last lap, I struggled to put everything together, there wasn't the same feeling as in PL3, and so I was sliding a lot. We will gain positions at the start due to the penalties of the others: of course, I won't be able to keep them all behind, but we will have a chance: tomorrow is a new day and we can get into the points."
