Formula 1 | Aston Martin: not just joys, Stroll out in Q1 in Miami

GP Miami - TheAston Martin will also have to deal with the bad performance of Stroll. The Canadian driver was unable to do better than eighteenth position in qualifying, and for this reason he was excluded already in Q1, while his teammate Alonso he even placed himself in the front row. The strategy adopted on the North American was the same as that of the two-time world champion, i.e. using only one set of soft tires in the first session, a choice which evidently did not go in his favor given the sudden improvement in track conditions lap after lap.

“Qualifying didn't go well – Stroll said. We tried to get through Q1 with just one set of softs, but in hindsight it wasn't the right choice, because other teams used another set of tires and had big improvements. These things happen, even Fernando only used one and got through to Q2, so it was possible. Now I have to focus on the positive aspects: the car is working well and the race pace is very competitive, so we have a long day ahead."
