Formula 1 | Alpine, half smiles after the trip to the Circuit of the Americas

Formula 1 Alpine GP United States – Half smiles for Alpine at the end of the last United States Grand Prix, the 18th round of the 2023 Formula 1 world championship. Through the columns of the French team's official website, Bruno Famin analyzed the results obtained by Pierre Gaslye and Esteban Ocon at the Circuit of the Americas, specifying how the first place in the points (8th) corresponded to a heavy retirement - due to contact in the early stages of the race - of the second. A halfway result that the team will try to redeem in a few days in Mexico City, scene of the next Mexican Grand Prix.

“It was a so-so Sunday overall for the team, with Pierre in the points and the unfortunate retirement of Esteban, who couldn't demonstrate his full potential,” revealed Famin. “The car was competitive, enough to score points both days. So it was frustrating not to find ourselves with both riders in contention for the Top 10. Esteban made a good start and Pierre a good performance, arriving eighth and gaining points that were all deserved."

“This was the first of a sequence of three races in as many weeks, so we are looking forward to Mexico City, where our aim will be to continue our run of points finishes. In the meantime, we'll see Jack [Doohan] at work in the first free practice session,” he concluded.
