Formula 1 | Alpine satisfied with Pierre Gasly's first outing with the A522

Through the official Alpine website, Alan Permane promoted with flying colors Pierre Gasly's first laps aboard the A522, the car used by Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon until the last Abu Dhabi GP, highlighting how the transalpine managed to adapt quickly not only to the car, which is profoundly different compared to the AT03, but also to the many systems inside the team garage. A 360° preliminary work that will help the French team arrive ready and prepared for the pre-season tests at the end of February in Bahrain.

“It was fantastic to have Pierre in the car already in the post-season tests in Abu Dhabi,” stated the Alpine Sporting Director. “The common objective is in fact to immediately get up to speed in view of the 2023 season. We only have three days of pre-season work and therefore every outing on the track can prove useful for sorting out some small but important details. Pierre's day was very consistent and we mainly focused on familiarization work not only with the team, but also with the many systems in the car."

“We know that Pierre is a top-level rider and today's work confirmed all this,” he continued. “Jack Doohan climbed inside the other car for the Rookie Test and his work was impeccable. The learning curve and adaptation to the car shown between FP1 and the tests was in line with expectations."
