Formula 1 | Alpine, Ocon and Gasly on track at Silverstone with some new features

Formula 1 GP Silverstone Alpine – Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly on the track some small news in the next British Grand Prix, the 11th round of the 2023 Formula 1 world championship. After Austria's failure, dictated by a weekend full of unknowns (weather and format Sprint above all), the French team wants to make the most of the potential of the A523 to move a ranking so far not in line with the expectations at the beginning of the season.

“Silverstone is an iconic track, with a beautiful sequence of high, medium and low speed corners,” said Ocon. “The famous Maggotts-Becketts-Chapel combination is very fast and beautiful to drive, especially with these high-downforce cars. More generally, the circuit is known for its high-speed corners and short straights; furthermore, it is a very exposed circuit and therefore the wind can have a significant and often unpredictable effect on all cars. This weekend we will have a car update, so we hope to improve our performance after the difficult weekend in Austria. We hope to have a good race in front of all the British fans, but also in front of many of my team mates who live in the UK, as our factory in Enstone is not far away. In a way it will be like a home race and I can't wait to race this weekend."

Here are Gasly's impressions: “What I like about consecutive races is the immediate opportunity to race again and prove something. It's the home race and this adds further motivation to compete for the staff members who will no doubt be present in large numbers in the grandstands! Silverstone is one of racing's most famous and historic circuits. It's an exciting, high-speed track with some good overtaking opportunities, especially at turns 3, 6, 9, 15 and 16. Silverstone is where I drove the A523 for the first time in February before my Alpine debut , an important moment in my career, when I started a new chapter in Formula 1 with the team. For this race we have made an update, so I can't wait to see the benefits it will bring to the car. The goal is to have a quiet weekend and to score important points for Sunday."
