Formula 1 | AlphaTauri, Tsunoda comes close to scoring in the Miami GP

Formula 1 GP Miami AlphaTauri – Placement close to the points zone for Yuki tsunoda in the last Miami Grand Prix, the fifth round of the 2023 Formula 1 world championship. At the end of a good comeback, despite the considerable difficulties faced by the team during the weekend in Florida, the Japanese managed to bring his AT03 in 11 ° place, just touching a top ten for a few seconds which would have guaranteed a significant boost in terms of morale. Things went worse instead Nyck de Vries, as the Dutchman couldn't do better than 18th place.

“It was a good race, a good comeback from me and the team,” said the Japanese driver. “I think I managed to get the most out of the car. It's a shame I wasn't able to score points, I gave my all, but I'm happy with my performance. It was a difficult race from a mental point of view; there weren't many breaks because there was always someone in front or behind me. I didn't expect our race pace to be so high, but it's encouraging for the next races. I felt confident when braking and that's why I was able to do a lot of overtaking. We will have some updates at Imola, we hope they go well and allow us to consistently score points."

Here are the Dutchman's impressions: “After the first lap, I was at the bottom. It was my mistake, I blocked while braking and we collided with Norris. This compromised our first stint a bit because there were a lot of vibrations on the right front which affected the pace. When you're so far behind and out of DRS range, you lose so much time on the straights that it's difficult to recover. I was at the back, alone: it naturally becomes easier when you're not fighting like when you're in the middle of the group, when every moment counts. The weekend was a bit up and down and started off uphill; yesterday we had a better day and today it was a shame to have lost so many positions on the first lap. We are bringing some updates to Imola, so we hope to be able to improve and start again."
