Formula 1 | Alfa Romeo Sauber, Leclerc satisfied: “Positive indications”

Eleventh and fifteenth positions for Charles Leclerc and Marcus Ericsson in the first free practice of the Canadian Grand Prix, seventh round of the 2018 Formula One World Championship. The Monegasque from the Alfa Romeo Sauber team showed excellent pace with the C37, managing to get close to the top ten in terms of the qualifying simulation. Things went worse for the Swede, even if the race pace expressed in free practice 2 bodes well for Sunday's race.

Here are the words of Marcus Ericsson: “It was a good Friday for us. We completed the program and tried all the different compounds on our two cars. The pace is quite competitive at the moment. It's fun to be back in Montreal and I really enjoy driving on this track. I can't wait for the rest of the weekend. There is trust."

Here are Charles Leclerc's impressions: “It was a positive day overall. Since I was driving on this circuit for the first time, it took me a few laps to get into the rhythm. I felt some confidence when I went into FP2 and P11 is certainly a good result. We will work to make further improvements and hope to achieve a similar result tomorrow."
