Formula 1 | Alfa Romeo ready to buy Sauber?

The indiscretion comes directly from Switzerland

The commitment of Biscione and FCA could expand as early as 2019, with a development plan that aims to grow the team based in Hinwill
Formula 1 | Alfa Romeo ready to buy Sauber?

Despite Pascal Picci's recent denials, Sauber seems to be moving more and more towards Alfa Romeo and Ferrari. According to what was reported by the Handelszeitung newspaper, in fact, the Swiss Scuderia could soon pass into the hands of the FCA group, with Sergio Marchionne increasingly intent on expanding the partnership established last winter between the Scuderia led by Frederic Vasseur and the Biscione brand.

The arrival of Islero Investments, as reported by the newspaper, should be seen precisely from this perspective, that is, a sort of precursor group before the actual purchase by Alfa Romeo. Islero, we remember, took the place of Longbow Finance, the company to which Pascal Picci refers and which a few years ago, thanks to its intervention, saved the Swiss team from a possible economic collapse.

The change of baton took place a few weeks ago and many are certain that the arrival of this new group could open up some rather sensational scenarios. Furthermore, the arrival of Simone Resta from Ferrari, a prominent technician who has taken the place of Technical Director within the Hinwill factory, should not be underestimated. We just have to wait for further news on the matter, but one thing is certain: Alfa Romeo and Sauber are continuing to build a solid project for the future.
