Formula 1 | Alfa Romeo, Bottas and Zhou close the weekend in Miami in 13th and 16th position

Formula 1 GP Miami Alfa Romeo – Despite the good performance shown in qualifying, Alfa Romeo failed to score the points in the last Miami Grand Prix, the fifth round of the 2023 Formula 1 world championship. Valtteri Bottas, in Florida, was unable to do better than 13th place, losing a lot of time in the central phase of the race, while Guanyu-Zhou he had to settle for 16th position. A missed shot that will have to make the Biscione team reflect in view of the next round in Imola.

“There are some positives to take from this weekend, although there is still a lot of work to do to fight for the top ten,” said the Finn. “The start was quite good: we recovered some positions and we were in a good place. I did my best to keep fighting and defend my position, but unfortunately we didn't have the pace we showed in qualifying. I think our final position reflects where we are at the moment and we need to continue working to improve. Our main objective – now – must be to take that extra step forward to be competitive again. We will bring new parts to Imola and hopefully these will allow us to progress and get back into the fight for points. I am confident in the work we are doing as a team and can't wait for the next round."

Here are the Chinese driver's impressions: “We took a step forward this weekend, especially in qualifying, but we still have to work hard to get back into the top ten in the race. Today it was very difficult to break the DRS train and it was only as the race progressed that I found a little more speed and space. Let's take Saturday's performance as a full glass and look ahead: I know everyone is working hard at the base to make progress. I can't wait to try the updates we will have in Imola and race on a permanent track. They seem to be a better fit for our package at the moment. Let's keep our heads high and continue to work hard."
