Formula 1 | Albon: “Red Bull deserved the world championship”

Interviewed by the German press, Alexander Albon returned to talk about the global fight between Mercedes and Red Bull for the conquest of the last 2021 Formula 1 world championship, underlining how Red Bull and Max Verstappen, despite the "chattered" ending in Abu Dhabi, deserved the title of world champions.

According to the Thai, new Williams driver replacing George Russell, the episodes during the season always went against the Dutch driver, an aspect that effectively kept Lewis Hamilton in the game until the last round of the championship at the Yas Marina Circuit.

“I can understand Mercedes' anger after the finale in Abu Dhabi, but if I look at the events at Silverstone, Hungaroring and Jeddah, or the first lap of the race at Yas Marina itself, the impression is that the decisions and episodes have always gone against Max Verstappen”, said the former third driver of the Milton Keynes-based team. “In general I think that Red Bull deserved to win the last F1 world championship”.
