Formula 1 | Abu Dhabi wants to continue hosting the season finale
Contacts with Liberty Media initiated
Abu Dhabi wants to keep its place at the end of the Formula One world calendar. In recent seasons, we recall, the Yas Marina circuit hosted the final round of the championship, awarding the title in 2014 (Lewis Hamilton.ed.) and 2016 (Nico Rosberg.ed.). The global attention towards Abu Dhabi has led the organizers of the GP to want to confirm their place in the calendar, initiating contacts with Liberty Media for a multi-year renewal.
“Awarding the title to Abu Dhabi is something that does us honor” commented Tereq Al Ameri, manager of Yas Marina. “We have started contact with Liberty Media in recent weeks and want to confirm our slot within the calendar. Both we and Liberty think it is right to keep the end of the season at the Yas Marina Circuit."
