Formula 1, 65 million dollars to save the Brazilian GP

Anyone who wants to secure Formula 1 in their country he is forced to pay and handsomely. And Brazil is no different. After insistent rumors that the Interlagos stage wanted to move to the opposing city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil was forced to invest huge economic resources to improve the structures of the circuit on the outskirts of Sao Paulo for the sole purpose of not losing the possibility of hosting the Formula 1 Grand Prix. The situation is already in an advanced stage especially from what was stated by the mayor of Sao Paulo, Fernando Haddad, who this week inspected the first part of the works which involve a cost of 65 million dollars.

The renovations, as the mayor always told the Spanish news agency EFE, were made possible thanks to a loan by the Brazilian federal government: “If it hadn't been for the government we would have seriously run the risk of losing this race by favoring the race of another city. We were in a delicate situation because the track is loved by the drivers and the teams, but there was a technological gap that was too far from the standards required by Mister Ecclestone and the Federation", he concluded.
