Force India VJM07: presented in Jerez

Force India finally showed off its new Force India VJM07. After the preview of the livery with the rendering that showed the car in a side shot last week, we finally discover the front of the new car from the Silverstone team, driven this year by Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez.

The car was presented in the Jerez pitlane, shortly before the start of testing. Like many competitors, the nose of the new Force India also has an extension at the end, a consequence of the new rules.

“Almost every single part is a new design, from the front wing to the diffuser,” said technical director Andy Green. “The genetics of the VJM07 are still based on the 2013 car but we achieved the same results in a slightly different way. There has been a lot of work to accommodate all the changes related to the power unit, it is the biggest change for the sport since 1990. The cooling system has been the biggest challenge since last summer, to understand the requirements of the new engine and optimize the chassis”.
