Force India: Vijay Mallya admits he fears Sauber

Vijay Mallya stated that the Force India he needs to improve so as not to be surpassed by Sauber in the constructors' championship.

After a good start to the season, Force India have scored just three points in the last seven races, after obtaining 59 in the first eight. On the contrary, the Sauber has scored 38 of its 45 points in the last four races and is quickly approaching sixth place in the constructors' championship currently held by the Anglo-Indian team. The team principal of Force IndiaVijay Mallya he admitted that overtaking Sauber is very likely unless the team can find a way to get more performance.

" Clean he's doing a good job in this second part of the season. It's a very good team at the moment and they've grabbed every opportunity that has come their way. It will be a very tough fight in these last four races: we have to take a step forward so as not to be overtaken, because they manage to qualify well and also have an excellent race pace."

Ahead of his team's home race, Mallya said he hopes Force India's recent performances in India bode well for keeping the Swiss team at bay.

“Our home race is a weekend that makes everyone within the team proud: the atmosphere at the circuit is incredible and we always have a lot of support. The circuit itself is one of the best in the world. And it has also been a good circuit for our car in the last two years where we have scored points in both races, so a similar result is the team's aim.”
